Qur’an – the dividend

Well, I was obviously not the first to want to know/calculate the number of ayat (verses) in Al-Quran: http://www.islamic-info.com/2009/07/how-many-total-verses-in-holy-quran.html – this brother used the MSExcel spreadsheet.

Dividend – The amount that you want to divide up.

Divisor – the number you divide by

Quotient – the answer when you divide one number by another

dividend ÷ divisor = quotient

So, the total number of verses in Al Qur’an is: ……………………

(1) 6,236 (exclusive of the un-numbered bismillahs)

(2) 6,346 (inclusive of the 112 un-numbered bismillahs)

So sisters, do the math – this might be a FUN way to get the kids involved too! See this site: http://www.mathsisfun.com/index.htm
