There really is an app for that! In time for this Ramadan, Google launched its ‘My Ramadan Companion’ app, which shows the sunrise and sunset times in our location, shares recipes, alarms that check if you’re really awake, and other content under the headings All, Food, Entertainment and Planning. Its catchphrase is “we help you take care of the little things, so you can focus on the big things.” See
The real Ramadan Companion is the Qur’an (the Scripture) and the lifestyle of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
“There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of God an excellent example for anyone whose hope is in God and the Last Day and [who] remembers God often”
The Qur’an which is the revelation of Almighty God to the last Prophet enjoins us to fast during this month. In addition to fasting during this month, Prophet Muhammad engaged prolifically in reciting the Qur’an, retreated into seclusion for the last 10 days of Ramadan, was even more generous in this month, and prayed and supplicated even more than usual. Can we do any less?
